(ECTS Credits)

 1 SU credit = 18 hours

 Approximately 2 ECTS credits = 1 SU credit

 Exchange students need to take at least 1 credit, but no more than 25 credits in one
 semester.

Language Requirements

 English: CEFR B1 /TOEIC 550/ IELTS 5.0/TOFLE ibt 42 or Home University Certificate

 Chinese: Online Chinese Proficiency Test will be conducted if students intend to take
 a Chinese Language course.

 Spring Semester (February to July): September 30

Application Required Documents

 STEP 1On-line Application

 Online forms will be open from late September 2025.

 Please upload the following documents by October 31 2025.

 - An official transcript from home university (all prior to the exchange);

 - A photocopy of passport;

 - A study plan & Statement of purpose; and

 - A passport-size colored photo for registration procedure.

 - Language Proficiency Certificate (if any, not required)

 STEP 2Health certificate submission

 Please provide an original copy of completed Health Certificate (Valid for 3 months
 before the entry date) AFTER your application is approved. PLEASE NOTE THAT
 SOME EMBASSIS ALSO REQUIRE YOUR HEALTH CERTIFICATES BEFORE ISSUING THE
 VISA.

 Required Documents:

  1. Health Certificate for Short-Term Students (Form C)/ Health Certificate for Residence Application
  2. Copy of test results/vaccine records. Please refer to our website for further details.

Courses of Study

 Spring 2026 courses will be available in December 2025. Please refer to previous
 courses for you reference:

 Course registration will be done online before student’s arrival. Instructions will be
 sent by email later.

Insurance

 Accident Insurance

  • Accident insurance is MANDATORY for all incoming exchange students. Students are requested to join and purchase the accident insurance plan in addition to their own insurance from their home country/university offered by SU.
  • Insurance Fee: NT$ 1,020 for 6 months (NT$170 per month) and will be collected upon orientation.

 Health Insurance (Optional)

  • Insurance Fee: NT 500 per month, the content of insurance is in the attachment. [NT 3,000 for 6 months (1 semester) / NT 6,000 for 12 months (2 semesters)]

 The fee is subject to change according to the Group Insurance Package and contract
 every semester.

Chinese Language Courses

(if applicable)

 We offer free 4 credits Chinese language courses for exchange students. (from
 Beginning to Intermediate) Students will need to do level check if they intend to take
 the course. If students are beginners, they do not need to take the level check and
 will be arranged in the beginners class. If students intend to take more Chinese
 Language courses, they are welcome to register at Chinese Language Center (Tuition
 Based): http://mandarin.scu.edu.tw/index.php/en/

Accommodation

 Students may choose to stay either on/off-campus dorm or rent a studio
 themselves. Please refer to our website for the most updated price information of
 dormitories: http://icae.scu.edu.tw/en/in-exchange/facilitating

 Dormitory is NOT guaranteed and due to high demands, students are strongly
 recommended to rent a shared room by themselves.

Pick-up Service

 Only for students who stay in the dorm.

Tuition and Fees

(if applicable)

 Tuition is waived for exchange students.
 However, some of the courses may require administrative fee

 (ie. one-on-one tutor class of department of music).

Cost of Living

 For reference only.

 Food: NT $15,000 / month

 Transportation: NT $1,500 / month

 Rent: NT $ 10,000-$20,000/ month

Other Costs

Buddy Program

We provide Buddy Program service where every exchange student will be paired with at least 1 SU volunteer student. The volunteer students will help exchange students with matters related to studies and daily life, including airport pick-up, assistance in checking in accommodation, courses registration and the other administrative process, help to adjust to the campus life, including transportation, dining map, medical treatment, etc.There is no need for exchange students to sign up for this program as International Affairs Center will automatically assign every accepted exchange student a SU volunteer. The contact information of new coming exchange students will be forwarded to the corresponding volunteer students before the semester begins.
