The attachment is a comprehensive list of most English-taught courses provided during 2024 Fall Semester. You can click the title of the course to see the syllabus. 

Please note: The information in the pdf file is subject to change. Please refer to the websites above for the latest course information. Also, you must remain flexible as courses are never guaranteed due to unmet prerequisites, over-capacity, time conflicts and class cancellations. 

How to Select courses:

Course selection will be conducted in two stages. The first stage is online course selection (please refer to the schedule below), and the second stage is filling out the paper course selection form after the semester begins. The following schedule is based on Taiwan time (GMT+8).
(1) Online Registration (August 12th 2024 00:00 – August 13th 2024 16:00)

  • July~ August 11th: Browse Curriculum (English taught courses, you may note down the course number and course code for your online registration)
  • August 12th 00:00 – August 13th 16:00: Online registration (Please select more courses in case of cancellation.)
  • August 20th~: Check the courses registered successfullDuring this stage, you will be able to register for courses that are taught in English and the courses specially offered for exchange students for Chinese Language learning. Please note that Chinese-taught courses will not be available for registration during this stage. They can only be added during Stage 2.

(2) Add / Drop by Course Registration Form (Semester starts, September 9th~September 19th )

During this stage, you will have the opportunity to physically attend classes as an observer and then select both Chinese and English-taught courses offered by SU. Any changes need to be made during this period, therefore, attending the first class is very important before you add or drop any course. Most lecturers will also explain  their syllabus/grades policy in the first class.

Chinese-taught courses:

If you would like to select Chinese-taught courses, you will need to add the courses using Course Registration Form after semester starts (September 9th~September 19th).

Chinese Language(Huayu) Courses(華語課程)---please be aware that the course is four hours a week (2 different separate days)
At the moment there are three levels of Chinese Language (Huayu) Courses

  • 綜合華語() Integrated Chinese (I): for students who have none or basic Chinese language
  • 綜合華語() Integrated Chinese (II):Proficiency test is required for new exchange students.
  • 綜合華語() Integrated Chinese (III):Proficiency test is required for new exchange students.

Students who would like to choose Chinese Language Course will be asked to take a Chinese Proficiency test online at your own convenience/place. If you are going to take Chinese Language Course, please write an email to jodywang@scu.edu.tw to request your online test log in account, password and the link. You also need to indicate which exact date (TW time) you are going to take the test before July 31st 2024. The test results need to be reported back to jodywang@scu.edu.tw once you finish the test. During online registration (August 12th -13th ), choose Integrated Chinese (I) first. The lecturers will determine which level you are going after reviewing all the students results. Final arrangement will also be notified later.
