Overseas Chinese Student Immigration Applications |
Any overseas Chinese student that drops out, returns to school, quits school, or graduates and returns to his or her home abroad after having enrolled and attended classes must follow the Taiwan Department of Immigration procedures and regulations. |
Application Process |
1. Overseas students wishing to return to their homes abroad during winter or summer vacations, to apply for residency, or to return home due to unexpected events can proceed to the Life Counseling Group to apply to leave and re-enter the country. 2. Overseas Chinese students applying to leave the country and return to their homes abroad after temporarily ceasing studies, quitting school, or graduation must follow the steps below: |
(1) Overseas Chinese students holding an ROC passport or a Taiwan Alien Resident Certificate that wish to return to their homes abroad after temporarily ceasing studies, quitting school, or graduation, must bring certification of their graduation or their temporary or permanent withdrawal from studies to the National Immigration Agency to apply for permission for leave the country. (2) Students from Hong Kong and Macao applying to enter Taiwan to return to school need to apply through the contact the Hong Kong office of the China Travel Agency. (3) Students holding Overseas Chinese Alien Resident Certificates need not follow any exit procedures when returning to their homes abroad after graduating or withdrawing from school, no matter if it is temporary or permanent: their Overseas Chinese Alien Residence Certificates will be collected by the Airport Police when they leave the country. |
