【News】Thanksgiving Party for Exchange Students

More than two months have passed since the beginning of the semester. To celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, volunteers from the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs at Soochow University organized a cultural exchange event for exchange students on a relaxing Saturday afternoon. The event aimed to provide students with an opportunity to unwind and connect with one another after the busy midterm period.

The pleasant weather added to the cheerful atmosphere of the gathering. Warm sunshine and a gentle breeze created a comfortable environment, making it an ideal afternoon for students to come together and enjoy the event.

As Thanksgiving was approaching, the activities were designed around the holiday theme. The event began with a group game called “Deliver the Turkey Egg,” which helped break the ice and encouraged interaction among participants. Exchange students and volunteers worked together in teams, filling the venue with laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition.

Following the games, participants received Soochow University souvenirs prepared by the office, including the Soochow Bear, luggage straps, magnets, and decorative tapes. These small gifts served as meaningful mementos of their exchange experience at the university.

During the gathering, students also enjoyed roast chicken, a classic dish often associated with Thanksgiving celebrations. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged lively conversations as exchange students and volunteers shared stories, introduced their cultures, and reflected on their experiences studying at Soochow University.

The event not only allowed students to experience the spirit of Thanksgiving, but also strengthened the connections between exchange students and volunteers. Through activities like this, the university continues to promote cross-cultural exchange and create a welcoming and supportive environment for international students.
