2023 Soochow University Spring Banquet

Soochow University Spring Banquet was held at 6:30 p.m. on March 10, 2023, at Dazhi Denwell Restaurant.

Because of the epidemic, the Spring Banquet was held again after many years. Many faculty members, overseas Chinese students, Chinese students, foreign students, and volunteers of Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchange attended the event.

Vice President Jan said that he was very happy to encourage all of the students on behalf of the president and welcomed the students from Mainland China and overseas to come to Soochow University to meet and exchange with each other from all over the world. It reflects the efforts from Soochow in internationalization. He hopes that they will not only improve our professional knowledge, but also learn more about Taiwan culture and make new friends during their study in Taiwan.

The Dean of Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchange, Hsu-Chi Wang, thanked all the colleagues of the International Office and the organizers for their help and hoped everyone could enjoy the feast.

A series of performances by the Hong Kong and Macau Students Association, the Hong Kong Students Association, the Malaysian Students Association, and the volunteers of International and Cross-Strait Affairs helped to shake it up. In addition to preparing for the event, the International and Cross-Strait Affairs volunteer team also prepared two moving performances on the day, which received unanimous praise from teachers and students. Volunteer Chih-Ning Chang said before the performance was both anticipation and nervousness, but after the music was broadcasted, she relaxed and began to dance, very happy and honored to be on the stage this time. Yao-Nen Guo, a student of department of business management, shared that he was particularly surprised by the celebration section of the event and felt deeply the efforts of the preparatory team and the school. The Chinese student, Xi-Yao Xu, who is a student of the department of law, shared that she had participated in two Spring Banquet before, including one online, and was very happy that the event was held two years later, but regretted that no prizes were drawn. The Japanese foreign student of Philosophy Department, Zi-En Pei and his friends expressed that they were impressed with the performance of the mini-recital and the exciting raffle was quite interesting.

Through this Spring Banquet, not only did the overseas Chinese students, but also the mainland students and foreign students gathered together to celebrate, made the students feel at home. At the end of the event, students volunteered to perform on the stage one after another, which brought the atmosphere to the highest point again and made the Spring Banquet come to a successful end in a joyful atmosphere.
