Faculty members from partner universities are welcome to apply to join programs for guest lecturers, visiting scholars or faculty exchange at SU for one semester or one academic year. Likewise, SU provides opportunities and encourages our own faculty members to teach or conduct research during the academic year at partner universities.
- To host scholars of external academic institutions who apply for visiting scholars at Soochow University, Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchange (hereinafter referred to as the Office) establishes “Operational Guideline for Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchange Hosting Visiting Scholars” (hereinafter referred to as the Operational Guideline) according to “Operational Guideline for visits of visiting scholars to Soochow University”.
- After receiving the application from visiting scholars, the Office shall inquire whether relevant academic institutions are willing to accept based on the professional fields and academic purposes of visiting scholars; if the answer is positive, the Office shall provide the letter of consent. If the previously mentioned applicants are from Mainland China, in addition to the letter of consent, the Office may assist them with entry procedures if necessary.
- During the visit to Soochow University, visiting scholars may apply for dormitories with the Office, while the recipient department is responsible for their pick-up from and to the airport, check-in and check-out of dormitories, and provision of resources required for research.
- Fees incurred during the visit to Soochow University shall be at the cost of visiting scholars, or supported by the funds raised by the recipient department voluntarily or relevant scholarships provided by Soochow University or external institutions.
- The Operational Guideline is approved by the Executive Meeting and is promulgated after the approval of President, same as revision.
