Exchange Students Join Paintball, Barbecue and Monopoly Event

Forty overseas students participated in a Top-Paintball event, followed by a barbecue party, culminating in a monopoly game. All designed by volunteers of ICAE, for foreign students to engage in, on November 25, 2023.

The initial activities included a paintball competition and a delicious barbecue. A junior volunteer from the Department of International Trade, Chang Wei Wei, explained, “The reason why we held this activity is to ensure a good team spirit throughout the competition. Besides, the barbecue event is an important part of Taiwanese culture. We not only have a barbecue on Moon Festival but when we have meetings with our friends.”

“It was my first time that I experienced a paintball game. Though it hurt when I was shot by paintballs, the process was pretty exciting!”, said Liu Qian Rui, an overseas student from Suzhou University of Science and Technology.

Julius Schwarz, an exchange student from The University of Münster, thought that even though the time for the paintball game was a little short, he had a lot of fun. In addition, he got to know many people during the barbecue activity. Overall, it is an interesting and meaningful event.

The event ended up with the monopoly game which allowed exchange students to gather together and roll the dice and conduct various tasks. This led to challenges such as making specific poses for pictures, sharing your ideas on favorite food in Taiwan, and introducing yourself to members in other teams. In the end, the volunteers gave marshmallows and Taiwanese Barley Tea to the top-three finishers, as a prize.
